Interviewed for: 10 IT Management Predictions For 2010

It is an honor to be one of the 10 IT management experts chosen by Aprigo to share insight & predictions about the future of IT in 2010.

My predictions are largely based on the factors that would be most important to IT during a recession.

Some of the points were:

• Cost-reduction: open-source software, cloud services and SaaS
• Efficiency: well-architected software can handle more traffic with less hardware
• Downsizing: using a non-relational database can in many cases remove the need for a DBA
• Reducing development timeframes: emphasis on ease-of-use and rapid application development
